Kazyansky universities
Zolotoe koltso, 11.13.98

Yakov Kazyansky – a brilliant and vivid mind, colossal memory, and not just musical!.. Witty ideas, improvisations fly out from his lips, dart out from his hands like birds, as if incidentally, but always absolutely appropriately.
Mr. Kazyansky is a theatre man. He feels most comfortable on the stage (not behind the scenes) together with his musicians, singers -- choristers and soloists. He plays in each performance, whether he is sitting at the grand-piano, conducting, dancing, or humming… He watches and listens carefully and improvises, and the performance gets livelier and moves along…

Court composer Yakov Kazyansky
Severnyi krai, 11.14.98

Yakov Kazyansky has the kind of deep inner concentration and musical endowments, about which it is said – from God…

Birthday
Severnyi krai, 08.28.98

The composer is linked entirely, hourly, and inseparably with music. He is even said to have a piano at his dacha, and after a little digging in the garden he starts making music. Interestingly, everything grows ideally to the music of Kazyansky, and the harvest is excellent.

Keys to mind and heart
Volnoe slovo, 03.29.93

Olga Kazyanskaya has achieved some amazing results. Her students splendidly grasp musical concepts: they sing in duets, trios, quintets… They are literally enamoured of the music of Bach, Handel and Schubert. Most amazingly, the students of Olga Kazyanskaya were not selected for their music abilities. They are ordinary children from a public school. It turned out that the talent of the teacher can work wonders.

To sing with spirit, eyes and heart
Yunost’, 03.06.97

Children love the lessons of Olga Kazyanskaya so much that the periods are too short for them; they want to stay extra with her… And, of course, they are inspired by her, for she understands and loves them so much. It seems that she reads some secret music and makes the most beautiful, tender strings of the children’s hearts clang.

Yaroslavl ‘Barry sisters’
Evreiskiy mir, March 2001, # 5

On February 17, 2001, Anna and Catherine Kazyanskaya gave a lecture on Yiddish songs at the office of the Rybinsk Jewish community. The lecture was accompanied by some audio materials and the singing of the girls… The audience liked the lecture very much, especially the music compositions. The very picture of the sweet Jewish faces -- “a sheine yiddische meidelakh”, the melodiousness of the language, and the family atmosphere of the meeting literally drew tears from many elderly people, evoking distant memories and sometimes even what could be described as some kind of genetic memory.

Concert-Lecture “Yiddish-mameloshn”
Kehila, April 2002, # 4

… The concert-lecture was conducted by Kazyanskaya sisters – Anna and Katia—in a very lively and interesting manner. Most delightfully, the lecture was accompanied by the singing of the charming sisters.  Music and singing are the most important things in their lives and those of their whole family … This vocal duet makes us take off from the reality and plunge into the joy of music and life.
