The Cat's House - Opera

In 1994, Yakov Kazyansky composed a one-act opera The Cat’s House based on a poem by S. Marshak. The opera was staged at the Yaroslavl Young People’s Theatre in October 1994. In February 1995, the performance participated in the festival Tunes of the Fairy-tales in Moscow. In April 1995, The Cat’s House was performed in St. Petersburg, while the theatre was on tour. Olga Kazyanskaya was a voice tutor on the project, and later she staged the opera with her school students twice. In the opera Jewish tunes are intertwined with Russian and Georgian tunes.
